Ted, the vantage point is definitely good as you get a good view of the surrounding area including the Olympic stadium but the sun was setting and there was too much movement in the cab for me to be able to take a decent shot with the beastie. I'm planning on going again, so next time I'll be using the 14-54 so hopefully I can get some better shots of what its like as you cross the Thames and land in a car park...

I suppose that like photos of the Grand Canyon from the south rim, photos from the cable car will become a cliche. But in this case you get to determine what the cliche becomes. Seems like a good opportunity to me.
