Interesting - that's a police dog being trained?

That is a big dog! You captured a very interesting pose with the way the man and dog are staring at each other. Is that a training or a demonstration?

It was a police dog demonstration in the arena at Crufts this month, at this point the dog has chased down this 'suspect' who is very rightly well padded out, and the dogs handler called the command to halt, so the dog stopped dead in it's tracks before being recalled. They were demonstrating the control they must have over the dogs. There are more pictures in the animal/pets section of the forum

Thanks for the explanation. You really caught a good moment. The padding he's wearing, wouldn't be enough to get me out there.

He was very good, inbetween other organisation's demo's he would randomly run out shouting and waving a stick around and the police would come out and send the dogs after him

Nice shot and good to see an excellently trained dog. It's really sad to see how badly some are trained here in the US (just look on youtube).

What does he do for fun - stick his hand in lion cages?
