Default We got herons too....... and I have a 50-200

..........and I got published again in our city 2013 summer Parks and Recreation guide.

These are actually a couple old photos I made one morning early at our city lake. The Yellow Crowned Night Heron was very posing that morning and the final shot, this one, was at about 15-ft with the E-3 and 50-200.

Fortunately for me this file has been published a couple times.

The Black Crowned Night Heron was a fun bird to watch and photograph, it was a regular at the dock (aka 'Redeye') and the people fishing fed it bluegill fish every morning.

....the sequence of the BCNH having its breakfast bluegill that morning can be seen here => http://tinyurl.com/blyq36b . All made with the E-3 and Zuiko 50-200.

Hey Bob

That's totally brilliant .. well done and hi -5 ..and all for getting published again. Those two are fab shots, and that 2nd one is fantastic so I'm not surprised you didn;t post those any earlier.

Wonder if they listed whether you were using the E3 + 50-200 in the article?

Cheers

Harj

Thanks all for taking time to see and comment.

Harj, the magazine is not an article about my good fortune to make the images rather it is a city parks and recreation guide of activities for the summer season. These are images from 2011 and I likely did post something about them at the time, especially the Black Crowned heron's sequence having the fish.

After several years of photographing the city parks which includes our 2300-acre lake I now have a few thousand images, all of which are available through Smugmug to the city departments with my permissions to use. I don't know if an image might be used in city publications until it happens....... it is kinda fun that way too and I enjoy it greatly.

Most of the folks who see the guide wouldn't know or care about camera/lens hardware but I do hear about the photos which is much more rewarding.

Thanks again for the kind remarks........ now I gotta sort through a few dozens of car photos from yesterday. It , 'picture taking', keeps me engaged with day to day fun.

Those are fantastic shots Bob and really demonstrate what the 50-200 is capable of doing in the right hands. Congrats!
