That fill flash really makes the photos. Suprised he wasn't spooked by it.

The reason the flash does not spook them is because Florida is such a high tourist area. The birds that are located in popular tourist areas, have been putting up with tourists taken flash shots of them for years. But again, that is one of my secrets of getting close to the big birds, so keep it under your hat. I want everyone to think it is just my stealth skills in getting close to them for my shots.

Over on the Dark Side, from time to time some hot shot will say that Real Photographers never use the pop up flash. When you look at their photos, the back-lit ones are way underexposed. I guess that's just a coincidence.

In the first couple I couldn't work out if you had managed to pick up a crazy long lens or if it was just rather close, the last one explained it
