Frankly I would get bored if my desktop, smartphone, tablet, laptop, refrigerator and anything else that comes along all used the same operating system. Boring.

Would also love to know where you are getting that from.
As the following post said, all i could find was 8.1 upgrade.
Really want to make a bootable usb straight to 8.1 so if i get any issues,
havent got to be hooking up to the net to download update and compatibility packs.

Just getting the pc built, and said no to paying for a key, as already have a code straight from MS on a card from a year ago. Its for win8pro, and guess i choose if i want 32/64 from the net.
Any issues if they install software and i give them the key?

HI Guys

I should have been a wee bit more clearer on what I meant by clean install to 8.1. In my case it was without an 8.1 ISO:

1. Install 8.x with base drivers - so do not install any GFX drivers or other hardware.
2. Do not install any apps at all. Just run the various windows updates to get the option in the Windows store to upgrade to 8.1
3. Upgrade to 8.1
4. Install latest drivers etc
5. Install all your various apps.

There's now easy way to clean install 8.1 you still need to install Windows 8 first and then update, but you can get an 8.1 ISO by following the instructions here:

or you can use this guide:
