Default Is it Spring YET???

After a long layoff, I charged batteries, dusted off the old E-3, attached the 50 f2, EC-20, and the Metz 15MS1 macro flash and hit the road.

I went to a public arrea that is an old mature groth forest with many old deadfalls which are allowed to decompose in place. Insects are few as of yet, so the sublects were a mix of last years lifeless leftovers and the very start of this springs new growth. I'm rusty as a 4 year old nail with my photography skills, but both my dogs and I had a ball spending a couple hours in the outdoors.

The old and decaying dead falls leave some interesting patterns. The hard part is recording it with the camera. Sometimes I did ok, someimes I messed it up.

I washed out of the super high grade stuff, liquidated the E-5 while it had value, and was considering getting rid of the rest too, but it did macro better than the Nikon for me.

Still have the E-3, 50 f2, 35 Macro, bought back the EC-20, and still kept the 50-200. Every time I grab the E-3, It feels like home. Every time I autofocus, it reminds me of why I went Nikon.

Still love Oly for macro, and still love Oly for carrying. Shame they wouldn't allow technology to overcome the issues rather than dump the DSLR. The P&S thing just doesn't do it for me.

I'm looking forward to bug pics also. I was thinking I'd see some out and about, but we are only a week past a 19 degree morning. I'll post some when I crawl around the yard like an infant soon. I do have some strange ideas of hobbies!

Thanks,

Love the wood grain and worm (termite?) tracks. Interesting pattern.

Very nice shots indeed. Which Nikon model did you cross the bridge for?
