Default Lucy

Lucy is a Florida Panther, which is a highly endangered species here. She has her own habitat at the Tampa zoo. I have had a hard time getting a reasonable photo of her, as she stays behind trees and bushes and sleeps a lot. Lots of shade from the trees and bushes, so not much direct sunshine to light things up. Shallow depth of field, as it was 1/250 sec at F3.5 cranked out at the full 200mm. The photo is at ISO 1600, so it is noisy, but I still like the results.

(Technical FYI: I recently turned the noise filter on the E-3 from "Low" to "Off" and I have keep it off. I think it softens the detail more than it actually reduces the noise.)

Very nice photo, Steven!

Maybe I'm imagining this because of the endangered status, but she seems unhappy? Lonely?

Maybe you shold try to pet her.

LOL. Now Ted, you know that photographers are not supposed to harass their models.

Do you think that Ted sneaks down to the Comedy Club on weekends and performs stand-up routines????

Beautiful shot Steven,

I don't see too much noise on it even is a 1600 ISO.
