Default Do you recognize this bird?

Do you recognize this bird? A little different angle for this bird shot. Taken with E-3 and 70-300mm lens, focus point was the eyes, 1/640 at f7.1 and ISO 100. Sorry, no prize offered for guessing the correct answer, and yes, the sky really is that blue.

(I spent some time shooting with the 70-300mm lens, and again confirmed why I much prefer the 50-200mm lens instead. Slow to focus, hunts for the correct focus, and doesn't want to stay locked on target. )

Steven, you would love having an E-M1 with that lens and yep I recognize Earletta (Earl's cousin), it is a good image of her too.

I would love having an E-M1, keep me on your gift list when you upgrade to the latest and greatest when it comes out. LOL

The shot was taken by the bay on one of the piers. The bird is a little Snowy Egret that was up on a light bar preening feathers, and then studying the strange person below who kept pointing a strange looking black box upward.

Agreed. Really great exposures that cold easily have been blown out.

I like the first one the best. The way you worded it "Do you recognize this bird?" along with the look in it's eyes reminded me of this sign I saw on a local bulletin board.

Thank you very much for the comments, Fred and Alan.

Alan: I'm still laughing over that dog shot, and the "I have now" tear-offs. Funny stuff!!

Let me add one more shot that I like in this series. Heavily backlit, but you have to like the bird's expression.
