Has anyone used a current Olympus digital SLR on a microscope? Does the light metering work with no lens? Can the mirror be made to stay up so there is a continuous picture on the video output? I don't want vibration from the mirror flipping when I take a picture. The camera will be controled by software that uses USB to set the camera and download to a PC. The software is the only reason I am picking Olympus. I want to mount the camera on the third tube of a trinocular scope. It seems to me that using a SLR without the lens is a much simpler optical system than using a non-SLR with auto focus, zoom etc. I don't need that stuff.
