Have a C8080 and use the FL-40 with great results. Wondering if anyone knows if the FL-40 will work with the E-500 or E-300? This flash is too good to give up. The Olympus website said it wouldn't work on the C8080 but it is great-don't think I would get correct info from them regarding this question.

Thanks

From what I've heard from FL-40 users who have gone on to the E-300/500, the FL-40 will only work in manual or auto modes...it does NOT work in any TTL mode; Olympus has changed the TTL language for the newer cameras, and the FL-40 doesn't respond to it. For the E-system cameras, the FL-36 or FL-50 are the recommended flashes.
