Greg,
That is one hell of a shot. I've not seen too many purposes for a lens so wide, but for this type of photography, it sure is very impressive. The detail, composition exposure-evrything is just spot on. Well done. Zig p.s. I'm with you, KISS was never a favorite of mine either. Zig

Greg, did you use a tripod? Any cropping?

No tripod, in my own case because I rarely will go to the effort of carrying one. Even if I usually did, it would not have been allowed in the stadium by security for the game.
The one regret in what I did was the ISO, which was 800. I had the camera in auto ISO and used aperture priority at f5.6. I had my ISO ceiling set to 800 and so the camera went there. The resulting shutter speed was 1/125 second, and I could have easily shot this at 1/30 second, kept the ISO down at 200 and would have been able to resolve more detail in the banners hanging from the ceiling better than I was able to do in balancing the sharpening with the noise filtering. I shot the image RAW and, on opening in Adobe Camera RAW I noted a slight out of levelness (sic) to it, so I used the level tool in ACR which resulted in an ever-so-slight amount of cropping. Uncropped E-PL1 files are 4032x3024 pixels and this one saved at 4011x3009 so the amount "chopped off" in doing the leveling I did in ACR was pretty much irrelevant. The hush of the cathedral before the service begins...
This is an amazing capture, even the "stained glass" is beautifully rendered. |

Impressive shot Greg. I won't tell anyone that you were really taking a photo of the Kiss banners! LOL
