Bee Bomb

This flower is supposed to attract humming birds. I've not seen any lately, but it doesn't mean that they don't come around.

Anyways, it is a pretty flower IMO, taken with an EPL-1 + 12-60SWD lens

Shot at evening time, ISO800. I took a page out of Greg's playbook and shot in RAW, used the clarity slider to reduce clarity and remove what little noise there was.
and yes, I did apply a little vignetting in the corners.

Oh, if Olympus could only release a 12-60mm lens for m43. It would be a fine combo.

........it is a good looking (pretty) plant Zig, I have penta out every year to attract butterflies and like you I don't see critters very often but when I do they are worth the wait. I'll bet the same is true with your wait, I've given up on hummers.

I like the image treatment you've done with this one.

Thanks Lotust/Bob,

I'm beginning to get the: 'I've got to buy a another lens bug'. I keep looking at the 75-300mm shots Greg took and trying to figure out how to get that past my bookeeper/spouce.

In the interim, the 12-60mm is keeping me happy.

hey Zig, what lens do you use exactly? is it a direct fit or do you need an adapter. I wish I would have researched this before I went out and bought 2 lens's

ps: I think I have the same flower in my back yard as a matter of fact

Beautiful reds! The underneath detail is also very sharp and detailed. Even the leaves are beautiful.

I used the Olympus 12-60mm SWD lens designed for the fourthirds system.
In order to use it on a PEN series microfourthirds body, a 4/3 to m/4/3 adapter is required. The 12-60mm retains all functionality and AF is unaffected.
Just as an FYI, I use the Lumix 4/3 to m4/3 adapter as it is about 50-60 dollars less.

The 12-60 is an extraordinary lens but it is not small. It dwarfs the camera body.

No problem,

Yes it is on the page you linked....... it is the DMW-MA1 adapter.
I got mine on Amazon.com. It was the best price that I could find.
