....big tornados in Texas Wed night

The tornados were primarily 40-50 miles SW of the DFW area in Texas last night (May 15).

Much damage done by an approx 1-mile wide WEDGE tornado, at least 6 dead and 100+ injured. There were several other tornados in that area of Texas just SW of us.

We did have high straight-line wind and a heavy rain, no hail nor tornados in Arlington, Ft Worth, Dallas from this outbreak .

This is a link to the SE New Mexico Weather Web reporting site with images of the mile wide tornado ===> http://tinyurl.com/b7juwdf

Update:
The weather service has now classified the large tornado at EF-4 (winds 166-200 MPH), there is only one classification that is greater.

05/17/13 ..... the total tornado count is now set at 16 for the 05/15/13 evening storms, there was some slight (relative) damage done east of Arlington and south of Dallas but no mass destruction such as was in our neighboring counties.

Foundations.... wiped clean. That's about as massive as it gets. I drove my car to the office and got it underground into the garage and watched the show from the office conference room windows. It was a late night.

glad to hear you & your loved ones are safe.

Bob,

I took a look at the photos & videos from the link you provided. Goodness gracious, a frightening set of images.

Tornadoes are one of those phenomenons of nature I have a hard time understanding.

Very frightening indeed. A sad situation for those residents.
