.....the Friday night parking lot
With summer closing quickly the light can be extremely harsh at the local Friday evening park'n-show but can also present some nice images.

I made these this past Friday with the E-P3 + FT 9-18 shot RAW in 'M' mode with PP done in After Shot Pro by Corel.

.....for more see here ==>

A very nice '55 Buick, I know the owner and was happy to see Brian & the Special there.

......another '55 Buick, this one a standard Special coupe nicely restored

....this Plymouth 5-window driver fascinated me, I spent quite a bit of time around it just looking

....a very nice couple

.....a 1909 Sears Motor Buggy, $395 in the catalog! He drove it from the trailer to the parking lot, about a block.

Fun to see, the wheels were built with hickory by an Amish wheelsmith. It is complete with functioning kerosene running lights, it drew quite a lot of attention.

.....floorboards removed to show the engine

....chain drive to each rear wheel, the paint finish is correct (no spray booths or dipping in 1909)

I like the interiors a lot.

Agreed. The interior shots came out the nicest.

Nice shots Bob. We had a 56 Buick so those pics brought some memories back. Sure used a lot of chrome back then.

What a collection to show up on a parking lot!

those Buick's are beautiful. I love all the red-painted models of that period, but that green shade is quite fetching.

Those Buicks didn't hold up to rust very well. My fathers 56 lasted about 3 years before it started rusting.

That Plymouth 5 window driver sure is a special car. Love the interior shot.

....thanks for the comments, this 'parking lot' Friday night has been going now for about 4-years and the 'show ups' continue to grow. It is just a drive in where everyone sits around and talks while the grocery shoppers & drivers by stop to look.

There are no 'trailer queens' here, all the cars are driven to and from though some are regular entries to weekend shows.

For me it is fun to be there and only 5-minutes from our home. The 9-18 lens is the beast for these shots. The next time I go I have a couple things in mind for the 35mm MACRO lens.

....the frontend of the Plymouth coupe, it sees the roads

....the '32 I would love to have

Bob: those are all excellent captures. Love looking at those old cars.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 1:38 PM.
