The Greatest Show on Earth...

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus is in town this week and I went with a few friends this evening. Unfortunately, this is about a month too early or I would have been trying the 45mm f1.8 Olympus lens I do not have yet :D...

That being the case, I took the 20mm f1.7 Panasonic with the E-PL2 and did a little shooting from about 5 rows off the floor, still not close enough for most of the acts so I did some slight cropping. I left the VF-2 at home, not knowing how close security might be watching the type equipment being brought in. That's one of the nicer qualities of the Pens....they can really be dressed down to look a lot like a point & shoot and in some cases could be the difference between getting in with or without a camera.

The LCD on the E-PL2 is a significant step up from the LCD on the back of the E-PL1 and worked just fine in using spot metering to capture these and a few other images I will be processing over the next few days..

Greg,
Not even close enough distance, I could still feel the details, colors and sharpness. Great shots and the great job.

Hi Greg

Looks like you had fun at the circus. Didn't know that Ringling Bros. still was in operation.

I had a chance to look at your EPL-2 gallery this morning. I can't help but notice how clean all the images are.

Very nice set indeed.

wow all of my shots at night suck. I could learn something if I could hang out with one of the veterans here.

Great pics Greg. I love the one of the ball.

Thanks, Zig.

This year marks 200 years of continuous operation for Ringling Brothers. I bet they make it to Boston from time to time. I would bet the grandkids would go nuts in seeing this show. It's continuous action from the first minute.
