I like doing this. Haven't found the perfect place and technique to do it, someone else could probably create something fantastic, but the general principle is rather simple given ample time and bug spray.

Not that sharp if you look at close details, but what do you want it was dusk and I was trying to shoot a landscape using f/2 to get the fireflies. You can also see some cars go by and some people with lights down on the other side of the lake.

oh, if you're curious, it was fifteen minutes worth of five second shots using the rokinon 12mm. Earlier in the evening, I was at 1/2 to 1 second, but well it got darker. I like this one the best. Tried playing with ND to darken the sky a bit and some other contrast and other sliders, not sure if I helped or harmed.

Thanks Steven! They're fun to do. I wish I could get better at them, but there's of course a very limited window of when you can do them. You only have an hour or so at dusk to try, during these two or three months during the year. And of course each "shot" takes a long time so if you botch one you lost all of that time.
