Default from my trip down to VA/NC

Some shots from back in August when I went down to see the eclipse. Very whirlwind trip of a few days (was kind of on a clock, the eclipse wasn't going to wait haha), wish I could have spent more time and been up there at different times of day/year.

The first few are from Grayson Highlands State Park in Virginia, a stretch of the Appalachian Trail--its calling card is the wild ponies that they have let stay up above most of the trees. I guess they "got out" years ago and have gone somewhat feral. They're very docile though and I probably could have touched them if I wanted.

The last few are from North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Parkway was great, and I could have spent a day there alone. The night shot is from a certified Dark Sky Park East of Asheville. Tried my hand at trying some long exposure Milky Way shots with my Rokinon 12mm.

..........looks like a fun time, I've not ever been to VA or NC but I know I would enjoy seeing those states; your photos tell me so, thanks you for sharing them.

All beautiful shots. Never been to Va., but lived in NC, and visit the mountains every year. You got a bunch of keepers there.
