Shooting in the middle of the rain

Early this week I was checking the weather forecast and it shows Thursday to have some rain at night time so I decided to use my OM-D and 12-50mm to capture some cityscapes but I didn't expect a tropical storm and that change a little my plans.

3. The rain started just at the beginning of the "blue hour"

4. I don't mind the rain shooting with the OM-D but yesterday we had a tropical storm.

Those are all cool but I really like #4 composition with the trees dividing the tight structure of the city and the plaza with the sky. The OOF top of the trees just make it look neater to me.

I know people don't like the 12-50 in general but it's the waterproof option right now (from what I can tell) if you're not going to shell out a grand for those panasonic zooms. Slightly technically unperfect shot (so people say) is better than no shot at all as far as I am concerned.

G'day Marcelo

Thanks for sharing some great images ~ you did get the better of the storm
I am very attracted to #4 & #7

If it were mine I'd take #7 and crop the top 1/3 till it was just the car down to the pavement reflections - without the building windows, it's "just great mate"

Very enjoyable series of shots, Marcelo. Color, contrast, composition all work for me.

Thank you Sammy,

The 12-50mm is my favorite lens, I love the the focal length and the fact it is weather proof.

I want to capture more scenes of NYC under the rain and this season is perfect for it.

Have a great day.

Marcelo,

..........wonderful images, I agree with Steven. All are fun to see and each takes a while to see all the aspects of the photo, I really enjoy seeing them.

I will make a decision soon whether to get the E-M1 with the 12-50 or wait and see how my 14-54 will work with the M1.

Thanks, Bob
