Some confused plants
Happened to be working out in the yard yesterday. I was trying to clean up all the leaves that had fallen when I noticed some confused plants that were in bloom. The weather, this Fall, has been so mild that some plants apparently think it's the beginning of Spring.

A few quick shots taken with with the E-P2 and the not-so-micro-sized::D

Many of the Bradford Pear trees showed stress dormancy during our long 'super-hot' summer and now are confused, some have bloomed.

I've been noticing the warmer than normal temps in watching some of the football games up there. A nice photographic suprise. One last burst before going into the deep freeze for the next few months.

I typically can get some nice florals at the Arboretum or Fort Worth Botanical Gardens into December here before everything goes dormant 'till some time in March. The heat and lack of rain really knocked the Fall colors back big-time here. Some tree lines where I typically see in bright colors like orange and yellow were very dull in comparison this year due, I guess, to the lack of rain.

Weekend before last the outdoor roses at the Arboretum were still looking pretty darn good. This Saturday it's supposed to "cool down" into the 50's. I might just drop by there and take a look again before heading over Bob's way to attend the Texas Tech vs. Baylor football game at Jerry World. I'm gonna see if security will let me in with my E-P3 and the Rokinon 7.5mm fisheye. Should be a fun place to do some ultra-wide shooting.

Hi Bob / Greg,

While our summer this year was nowhere near as hot as what you folks had to contend with, our Fall was quite warm and relatively dry making the foliage season pretty much a dud.

To make matter worse, we had a number of storms that blew through here and literally blew the leaves off the trees.

So, no foliage shots from me this year.

By the way, Hope you both have a great Thanksgiving. I'll be watching the Cowboys and eating lots of dessert tomorrow.
