Talk About a Fast Lens...

Saw this on Ebay today. A f.95 lens....wow.

Yes, they've been selling that one for a little while now. It's often been in short supply. I cannot remember the last time it was in-stock at B&H. Note the price at the link below, which is equivalent to this one listed on eBay. The B&H-priced lens includes the warranty. You have to pay an almost extra $150 to "buy" the warranty for the eBay lens, and the warranty is probably an international one, meaning no warranty work available in the USA. You'd have to send it to Cosina Japan (the maker of Voigtlander lenses) if it requires warranty work.

Pretty impressive especially considering price/performance. Thanks for the review links Greg. Won't be getting one anytime soon though.:(

Yes.....just a little bit of money. That, and the fact it's not been available almost anywhere for some time definitely keeps me back as well. For most of us, the Panny/Leica 25mm f1.4 is really about as high as we should be aiming. Sorely tempted, but not yet committed, for either. That's me.

Not too long ago I watched a video on the web of the Voigtlander 25mm f.95 being assembled. All by hand, one unit at a time. It's really "old school" from the bottom up just as the guy at Luminous Landscape noted.
