Trying to shoot the inside of a theatre . . .
(but note that I never claimed to be any good at this).

Over at Akron Ohio this past weekend for a visit, part of the time we were at an event in the inside of an old theater downtown there. I didn't take any shots of the baseball festival itself, but I was amazed by the inside of that old place. Most of my shots sucked, though. At least I learned a bit (like no, don't think you can shoot handheld at too slow speeds even if you think you can, just bump the ISO). I got a few interesting ones though, even though some of these are more "good" than others. If I'm going to self-critique a bit, I'd say that the close-up/details are neat while the wides kind of stink (except for the outside shot which I quite like).

.......I really like the B&W street scene

Sorry Sammy, (a day later) I meant to also mention inside the theatre "Beautiful theater, and you did it justice" , Greg said.

Beautiful theater, and you did it justice, every bit as nice-looking as the 1920's Broadway theater where "The Book of Mormon" is playing and my daughter took me last February.

These were great, and so is the theater. My hometown had a similar interior but they tore it down for a new hiss.

Thanks guys. I guess part of it is that I'm regretting the great shots that were there that I just flat-out missed. Ah well. One good takeaway is that on some of the higer-ISO shots I used the noise reduction software that came with the Nik suite, and I think they look quite good without over-doing things too much. Also this would have been a perfect place for the fisheye treatment.

Bob, that's my favorite shot too. It didn't really do much for me until I decided to mess around with B&W. Made me really glad I brought along the 14mm instead of the 20.

I think they are great shots and I too like the B&W street scene.

Fantastic set Sammy, looks like it was a great experience for you shooting in low light.

My favorites are the B&W shots.

Cool shots. I like the closeups. Did you use the 45?
