The "good" one is a one ring zoom...the same ring that focusses is also used to zoom, and, as mentioned above, the serial number is a "22", meaning it's a Kino optic.

*note*- I typed the above, then thought I'd do a quick scan of ebay and found what looks to be a very cherry unit in Canon FD mount. Hard to tell just looking at the lens, but it is a physically very, very small lens and would work great on a micro four-thirds body.

This is one of the first lenses I bought and while it doesn't get used as much as it should it is an excellent lens. In fact I've found that with a doubler it is actually sharper at 300mm than my 70-300 Vivitar zoom. I'll have to make a note of using it more, it's certainly more portable than my Soligor (interesting to note on the site you linked the Soligor 37-105 i own listed for over $400. Over $1K in 98 dollars, who knows how much that would be today. I think I paid $17)

yea, had much better lighting today as you can see. it really is impressive, i have some more i will upload later. i also tried a few macro movies which i need to find something to edit with since my vegas trial expired.

i am also getting much better at focusing it. takes a little to get used to focus then magnify and critical focus. but once i get the hang of it its pretty quick

Inspired.... where did you ever get that idea LOL. Looking forward to seeing them, you could download Corel's prog, or Adobe Premiere Elements as your next option.... or put your hand in your pocket for Vegas

Great pics Dustin, were these all shot with your vivitar? I ordered an adapter from amazon for my canon fd lenses yesterday, got it for $40 with free 2 day shipping.

On another note do you ever shop at any of the dodd's stores in Cleveland or do you strictly order stuff online. I got my 420 with a 25mm pancake lens from the main downtown store for $300, it was a lucky find as they were clearing inventory.

Charles,

Yes, these were all shot with the vivitar. I think I probably have the same adapter you do, as I also ordered mine from Amazon for 39$, it came in like 2 days too, so you should be enjoying it soon

yea, I did pick up my EPL-1 at Dodd's, their prices were competitive and it was local, and yea I went to the main downtown store.
