The kit lens is a good photography lens. I had it for about 3 weeks before going with the silver color upgrade. And I did not getting any focus issues with it. It is very sharp, and the photos I had with it seems just as good as the metal lens i have now. But there may be some unknown difference between the 2 lenses. That makes one a bit better for video.

I'd say it's decent, not good. I also say the Lumix 14-45mm is better, not only in terms of construction (far far superior) but IQ as well. I should receive my Lumix 20mm on Thu. I'm guessing it is a much more solidly built lens than the Zuiko 17mm. We'll see.

The Panasonic 20 is a finely put together piece of engineering. It looks more spartan than the stylish Olympus 17, but it's a great match on the E-PL1.

I'm still debating on whether or not to keep the EPL1. I certainly don't want to spend another $200+ on an EVF but at the same time, that 2.7" low res LCD drives me crazy.
