I don't think I would say better. More variety of aspects, from wide-scaping 24mm effective focal length views to short telephoto in a one high quality, no-lens-change-is-necessary package.

This Saturday I'm headed to the State Fair of Texas, both for the Fair and to go to a football game at the Cotton Bowl, where no lens like the 12-60 will be allowed in. No option of shooting action means I'll be there with the E-PL1 and 20/1.7 doing everythying from the auto show to some architectural snaps inside the almost 80 year old stadium before the game.

When I was searching for lenses on ebay I saw Leica-MFT adapters. They are very thin. Maybe you can find some very thin Leica lenses that offer longer focal length than the Panny 20mm.

For example:

If I wanted a longer focal length prime to go with the 20mm f1.7 Panasonic, I'd just buy the 50mm f2 Zuiko. It would serve to cover two focal lengths...the 50mm and, used with the EC20 I already have, a 100mmf4 macro as well. Add the 9-18 Zuiko and you've got a nice, compact little outfit.

I would prefer the system compatibility of the Zuiko over the look of a 50mm f2 Summicron. I got the "Leica thing" out of my system about 12 years ago when I used an M6 outfit for a period of time.

In reality, 100-200mm. The ZD 50mm is a great lens but heavy. So, when you add the adapter + the EC20, it may not be a very comfortable combo to shoot with. However, the fact that you have the VF2 will help with any possible stability problem.

OK....I'll admit that Neiman Marcus Leica M9 would be a nice little camera to own...

I might have to go downtown to Neimans and see if there's one in the case to oggle over...

There is also the limited production Ti body and lens. It looks really nice for 22k euros
