James - you can do quite a lot with an android tablet. Do you know which model you have? If it has a usb port you may be able to connect the camera directly and see it as a drive when the camera is in storage mode. The acer transformer prime has 10" a IPS display, currently top on market but ipad3 will match it

I didn't get the model with all the bells and whistles. Mine is the Iconia Tab 8GB WiFi A100, 7 1/4" screen. Yes, there is a mini USB port on it and it came with the cable.

as of right now that device cannot support USB host, sorry. it is possible that when it is upgraded to android 4.0 aka ice cream sandwich (ICS) USB hosting many be enabled via an adapter cable that would plug into the mini USB and provide a standard USB B port.
