Whispering in the North Wind

Our garden club has its first photo show of the year in march and one of the categories is "Whispering in the North Wind", ornamental grasses in the winter. Our winter has been so snowless that I headed over to the greenhouse and shot these Karl Forster grasses against the white wash on the glass. Admittedly not the best shots -- the light was failing as heavy cloud moved in -- but if you think these "say" grasses in the winter than I can head back in better light.

and then a tighter look at the flower head...

KulaCube - here let me help you out... to post the pictures you need to wrap the Flickr Share URL in IMG tags... IMG tags are a pair of code snipets that look like this except replace the { and } with square bracket versions.

{IMG} filckr share url goes here {/IMG}

Alternately you can click the image icon (little yellow square icon with two mountain peaks and the sun between the link icon and the quote icon) and paste your flickr url in the popup box (be sure to replace the http:// in the popup box)

anyways so here are your pics

p.s. if you click quote on my post you can see the image tag code - hth

Ahhh! Thank you ramcewan for the tip. I've deleted the originals as they were really junk shots. And when I went back to shoot the grasses, the greenhouse staff had cut them down.

Ramcewan, I just copy the BB code on Flickr in the share tab and paste into my post. I guess I don't understand what your getting at with the wrap around URL.

James,

If you inspect the code you copy from Flickr you will see the image tags as part of what you are copying. The other parts of the code Flickr gives you create a link (the url part) back to Flickr and a title and some stuff that says it came from you on flickr.

when I wrote my reply above I was referencing a method to make any image url (something starting with http: and ending with .jpg) appear in line in your post. I described this method because KulaCube had the url handy.

The method you use to post from Flickr is preferable in many ways.

Thank you, sounds complicated, at least to me.
