Default Panasonic 45-200mm f/4.0-5.6 Lumix G Vario MEGA OIS Zoom on sale for $199

Amazon.com has this lens on sale for $199. I looked at it a couple days ago, it was selling for $244. Anyway, I ordered one last night.

I wasn't sure of the policies on "advertising" on here so I've been biting my tongue.

I just very very recently bought an E-PL2 and have been looking for a longer, value (read--I'm cheap ) lens to go with the kit. I was really wavering between the Oly and the Panasonic.

But yeah, anyhow:

I haven't seen this deal listed on ANY of the sites I've been checking out. Why?

I thought I was going to have to wait a bit to pick up another lens but I had to jump on this. And you guys have been really helpful on here so I thought I'd share.

Sammy,
Too bad I didn't see the one on Sammy.com. It is a steal for $109. However, they are out of stock. Otherwise, it will be terrific.

Oh, I didn't even notice that. I must have sold out shortly after I placed my order (which should get here on Monday). I didn't know what I thought about the increased weight (and performance) of this over the Oly 40-150 but it's certainly going to be better than my other current option (of not having a long lens at all).

Price as low as $109, it must be selling like hotcakes. Congratulation on the great deal you got!

I own this lens. It is great and you will be happy at 199 and ecstatic at 109, congratulations i am jealous as i paid 180 used for my copy. One really nice feature over the oly lenses is panny includes a hood which fits backwards and forwards allowing easy storage.

I am happy to get this lens for $199. Of course, Sammy is happier than me with the price he paid. To sum it up, I got the system for $400 with 2 lenses, that is not too shabby at all. I really enjoy this camera. It is small, compact and great for traveling light. Panasonic is only camera manufacturer still packages the lens with a hood even for a low cost one. I wish Canon and other biggies will do the same and be a little more generous to the customers .
