Default Used E M5 bodies

There are a few used OM-D M5 bodies on Ebay starting at $925.00 free shipping if anyone is interested.

Not discounted enough for used. For $74 more one could buy brand new with warranty. Eventually....once the E-M5 has been out long enough they've had enough returns to repair and sell through Cameta as refurbs, I would bet those will cost less than $925.

On one of those, the warranty card hasn't been sent in yet. Does Oly only honor the warranty to the original buyer?

Correct. Warranty is not transferrable from the original owner. That seems to be standard. I know Canon and Nikon are the same. I would be surprised to hear if anyone making cameras was not. The couple of times I have sent anything to Olympus for warranty work (last time was the E-M5), I had to send it with my purchase receipt.

When I buy items that are still under the warranty, I try to buy from the original owner and ask for a copy of the receipt. That way, I get the warranty (or whatever is left of it).

But if it's warrantied only to the original buyer, would you just use his name and your address for returning the repaired item?

As long as the original buyer never goes to the company website and registers the item, I do not know how they (the company) would have a way of knowing who the original buyer really was.

As long as my receipt did not have a complete credit card number or my name, I would not have an issue giving it to a buyer, and I always keep the receipt in the box for the item so if I do happen to sell or give the item to someone, it is all there.

I simply send the item with a copy of the receipt and my shipping address.

http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions...-11440635.html

This could be a pretty sweet auction win for somebody. Too bad I already have one . . .

Yeah I know, nothing to do with the EM5, just thought I'd pass it on and this seemed as good a place as any . . .
