Default reflections tumble in

found this nice still little pond that gets sun on the opposite side in the morning and took a few test shots this morning, scoping this spot for foliage. I set out this morning with my russian 50mm and the 45-200mm to try a different spot which I had shot with the 14mm the day before but had to crop.

first a single shot with the 45-200mm

Now this is a stitched shot again with the 45-200mm. I was using a monopod and I tilted the camera first down through to back up. I plan to revisit this technique with a tripod and the 14mm when the colors get brighter.

....nicely done, I love reflections (seeing them & making photos of them. It'll be a while here 'til color change and usually the wind strips the leaves before the change, so we have to be quick at the shutter when we have a capture chance.

thanks bob - yeah we had wind and rain ruin last year's foliage season, hopefully this year won't be a repeat of that. Here's a few more from today with the 14mm f2.5 Panasonic

here's another shot from this morning with the 14mm f2.5 panasonic this time it is a three shot stitch panoramic as you can see the stand of lower wet swamp trees is already in full color while the dryer trees behind are just starting to turn.

Thanks Sammy - unfortunately the top side of that photo is not so good, looking a bit blown out. Seems I got the exposure right for the reflection but not for the trees, I'll have to keep that in mind for next time, that or employ HDR to get both exposures for later fusion.
