Good luck with the procedure, you should be fine. I know several friends that had the surgery and everyone did well.

(I went to contacts way back in the 1980s and would never go back to glasses again. I remember that I used to feel like Greg, about fingers touching my eyes, but I changed to contacts when I finally realized that if millions of other people could do, then there was no reason why I could not do it also. I only regretted that I didn't do it years sooner.)

I opened this expecting to find out that you had gotten the rubber ring out of phase with the diopter setting...

Best of luck with the procedure, my dad went through it a few months ago with flying colors, just take it easy and remember to follow the instructions afterwards.
