I was mistaken, it is $999 body only and $1449 with 17mm f1.8 and VF-4

Now that combo is a decent deal, they are basically throwing in the VF-4 for free. If you've been waiting for an ideal street shooter setup this looks nice as Greg points out you now have that extra fast shutter too which makes this a prime lens shooting machine.

They're also offering premium accessories like a wood grip, black versions of the 17 and 45, as well as leather half case/strap and bag. Marketing has positioned this as a premium product for sure. I can imagine a top end kit with leather matching lenses all done up would very much bring to mind the old rangefinder setups.
in my bag: e-m1, 7-14mm pro, 14-54mm mk ii, 50-200mm mk i, 70-300mm
in my pocket: e-pm2 lumix 12-32
