.....and we have solid ICE across the Dallas/Ft Worth area since yesterday evening with temp at 30F going to 15F tonight.

I've been with the -20F temps for long periods in my youthful time (NW Ontario - Red Lake dist) and grew up in IOWA (really cold there too) so the day or two here in DFW at 30F and snow/ice every 3-yrs is a good trade off.

G'day mate

Temperatures totally unheard of in the great land Downunder
We reckon it's cold when we have to out a jumper on coz it's down to +5deg C
Sure - the alps & snowfields have a month or two of snow, but the rest of the place has this 'awful' stuff called sunshine & warmth ... and drought > many farmers have not seen rain for all of this year

The nice thing about it ... it is dry cold Not the humid cold like back east (Quebec or Ontario or ... Michigan).

Interesting enough ... we are now down to -26c (hoping the wind doesn't start...). When I moved here, 16 years ago, I had two life experience:

- How the @!#[email protected]%!! the weather can move from +6c to -32c in less than 24 hours ????
- How can we get 3 weeks of temperature between -22c and -32c in a row (in January 1998) ???

As for drought ... it is not as bas as down under ... but we still can be 3 weeks without any rain some time.

Anyway, enjoy ! :
