Default ....a London TAXI & a '51 Merc

The past two Fridays I've not gone to the show due to family get together obligations; last night was free choice time so I did 'Nostalgia Friday Nights.

A couple new cars there for me, crowded as usual but I managed to isolate with some 'angled' perspective comps.

.........E-P3 / ZD 9-18 / manual mode with AF / spot metering

1951 Mercury

..........the 1956 Austin taxi

Excellent shots Bob. The color, details, contrast, compositions, etc all are good on those shots.

I don't always understand the British though. Why the open well for the suitcases on the left front? It looks like they would go flying out on the first right turn by the taxi. And the suitcases stick out beyond the taxi roof, so they would get soaked in a typical London rain.

I gotcha Steven, sometimes it make little sense, see this link http://tinyurl.com/l5qbofs for how the luggage was actually carried on the car for transit; I believe there were covers in the stow box at the running board.

I did not talk with the lady who brought the car, too many people around, maybe next time she comes.

From the link above, scroll downpage and this same car is seen at auction 2013, I will ask about it next time.

AND!!! The 1st Austin photo above is in the list too http://tinyurl.com/nnznxlm . Photo skimming at it fastest.... I see my Steve's post all the time elsewhere.

The car photo master has excelled once again. i like the classic Merc with those sidepipes/cutouts. I can relate to that, had those on more than one of my cars in my early years.
