Default Painted Lady with the 40-150

My Penta is really paying off with the Giant Swallowtail visiting every day; I have a bunch more terrific photos of it done with E-M1 burst mode to get some unique wing pattern files.

This Painted Lady is spending a great amount of time in the garden too, it is a great target for the E-M1 / m40-150.

Another excellent series, Bob. Looks like your Pentas are attracting some really pretty butterflies this year and you are really making your E-M1 dance in your fingers!

...thanks and no on the ext tubes for the butterflies.

The m40-150 is perfect for these type shots out to 10 feet. The Painted Lady here and the Giant Swallowtail all shot at approx 4 feet.

Thank you Steven, I've had this Penta bed for 15-years, it always seems to work well. It is on the north front of our house, it is shady in the later afternoon so critters like it.

As for the E-M1, you would really like using it and all your FT lenses work perfectly with the M1.

Excellent shots and color. I read your not using tubes but are you cropping or are those full frame?

.....cropping most all Alan for framed composition, I seldom do a photograph that is framed as I want for the end result.
