Default Lake Coeur d'Alene Resort

While in Idaho this past week we stopped by Lake Coeur d'Alene. It would have been nice to have some time to hike along the shore but it wasn't in the cards this trip. Anyway, the resort has a floating dock that surrounds the area for moorage which makes for some cool photo opps.

....these are really good, every time I run through them I see something new and is there anything prettier than a 'wooden' speedboat, it may be fiberglass but it looks wooden to me.

It's real wood alright and it's beautiful. The lake seems to be a magnet for them. Some are antiques and others are reproductions. I saw a flyer for a used one for 499k. Yikes!

They have a wooden boat festival on the lake and a water taxi business that has several for providing tours. Many or most are StanCraft. The StanCraft website has an "Owners Club" link that lists 21 of their boats in Coeur d'Alene. http://www.stancraftboats.com/

Thanks Marcelo. I notice the sharpness of my photos goes up when I shoot from the outside of the car.

Those blues are so blue, the sky in he first image looks purple. That bay is a photographer's paradise on a clear day. Beautiful.

It really is Greg. There were a couple float planes taking off just a bit out of reach for the lens mounted at the time. The floating dock is something like 3000 feet long and gets wide enough in one area to have tables and chairs. The raised part in the photo below is how the boats get in and out.

Very nice colorful pictures and makes me feel like I've been there before.
