Default New "toy" is coming

After reading a ton of review, I finally ordered the Rokinon 85mm f1.4 from Amazon ... for a mere $239USD + Shipping + Custom fees.

It is still cheaper than here by about $100CND

Delivery tomorrow if I am lucky ...

Wow. Great deal. When I looked at it on Amazon it listed for 299.00. I've heard about fluctuating prices on Amazon and even experienced it first hand. Nice snag. I look forward to seeing some results.

congrats on your new toy - should be fun with the focus peaking on the e-m1 - I've been eyeing some of the new Rokinons, the 12mm f2.0 is the one I most want, it has gotten some very good reviews for astro-photography. I think using it for that and landscapes I'd probably not miss the AF too much. Here's the review of the 12mm f2.0

Amazon has been running gold box deals all week on the Rokinons, mostly the Cine lenses. The deals last for 4 hours or until the item sells out. Looks like the 85mm just went back on sale but only for fuji X mount. The only two m43 deals right now are the 16mm T2.2 Cine lens is on sale now for $397 and the Olympus 15mm f8 body cap is $37.99.

Yeah, I've been eyeballing the 12, that 10/2.8 and possibly the 85. I'm trying to behave though, as I'm looking to put together a new PC as my next photography "investment." They're making it hard with the deals though.

one thing to be aware of, the 10/2.8 and the 85 are both adapted versions of DSLR lenses and as such pretty big.

The 12/2 on the other hand is actually made for mirrorless and is sized smaller as one would expect.

Sorry to hear that . My lens arrived today (my wife just texted me as I was typing this), but on my way to work yesterday, I got worried when I saw the FedEx semi that had crashed on the Interstate. I'm like "I hope my lens wasn't on there"
