Word of advice, someone might notice the rest of the windows in the house don't sparkle like this one...
yeah I've already gotten busted on the cleanliness of the window and the fact the screen is taken out... lol

it is very nice indeed, I am hopeful that with the digi TC I can use this lens most of the times I was using the 70-300mm, although given the market right now the 70-300 won't be going anywhere.

yikes! that's an awful lot to pay for a stop over the 70-300 or 100-300! I'm sure it will be excellent though.

Speaking of new lenses I just read Fuji announced it's 16-55 f2.8 weather sealed lens, for around $1200. Really nice to see all the systems maturing.

Very nice shots, super sharp and great bokeh.

How is the balance of the lens with the camera?

I did notice that the new "lightweight/compact" Nikon VR 300mm f4 is also retailing for $1999 so I guess it's not out of the range of what other makers are charging for a 300mm prime..

I don't find it too bad, with the tripod collar removed it allows me to have the center of balance in my left hand just forward of the adapter. I can pick up the camera with the lens mounted with my right hand on the camera grip side but I wouldn't want to hold it for very long like that. I think as long as you employ the standard left hand on the lens right hand on the body grip it is comfortable for shooting. I didn't find the weight to be too bad either with the camera strap (domke 1.5" gripper) over my shoulder when I went for a walk last Sunday afternoon hoping to catch a raptor on the hunt.
