""please check the status of a lens" just got that on the screen. Definitely have to update something.

Both lens and camera updated. It appears to have solved the problem! The lens is a bit heavy for my taste, but probably worth the benefits. And the length of it compared to the 12-50 isn't that much different, so it should pack well.

It hurts a bit that I just got back from a week long trip in Vancouver and Whistler (so stupid not to take the camera), so the finances are a bit tight before I'm reimbursed for my trip, but I'm glad I pulled the trigger. I did it at noon on a Monday, in case there is a science as to when they put new product on the page.
Noon in which timezone?

I totally get the rule as that was the one I made with myself for the E-M1, I'm going to hold off on the 12-40 and hope to catch one on 20% off for memorial day sale which is when I picked up the E-M1.

Glad you got that worked out, so is it focusing quickly, silently and accurately now?

Yeah, it is quick. No good examples yet, as I've just taken shots around the house and out in the backyard. Nothing special.
