Default Which superzoom on an OM-D??

I have an Oly OM-D E-M5, and am wondering which 300mm zoom people prefer on this camera- the 75-300mm Oly- or the faster Panasonic 100-300mm zoom- and why? I realize the Panny's a little faster...
Thanks for any advice
Wes

G'day mate

We have the Panny 100-300 and it does the job for us ~ quite reasonable performance ... however we are landscape / flower / generalists not fast action shooters, so whether this makes any difference to your decision, I can't comment

Default Thanks!

Thanks, Phil-
Finally located my cameras that were packed away from the move- and anxiously awaiting spring to start doing some shooting again! A little too cold to hang out outside with the camera gear right now here in Midcoast Maine!!

Yeah mate

We see the TV news of 'you lot' shovelling a metre or deeper snow falls to see the footpath or street ... and cars & utes skidding & sliding etc etc, whereas 'us lot' in the great land downunder in mid winter just pull on a woollen jumper and hop onto a kangaroo for a qwik ride down to the shops or wherever

We've just had 2 cyclones rip into Oz over the last week (as I'm sure your TV news has mentioned) so there's plenty of people affected. One cyclone ripped thru Rockhampton, Queensland where they have a very large photo community too

Good luck with your stuff when you get around to it :-)

It's pretty much a toss-up between to two to be honest. I had a chance to play with a Panasonic 100-300 on my E-M1 and own both versions of the Olympus 75-300. If I had to buy one, I'd probably go with the second version of the 75-300, but not for any one, outstanding reason. They all perform about the same.

"Faster" when it comes to comparing the Panny 100-300 to the Olympus 75-300 is like comparing the speed of different varieties of turtles. It's more like, slow and slower.
