Default World Superbikes Phillip Island

Here are some shots from Saturday Qualifying WSBK at Phillip Island.

Cant wait for M.ZUIKO ED 300mm f/4 PRO to come out, I think this will be a awesome lens and an extra bonus when coupled with the MC-14 for some extra reach (especially for getting bikes more front on in a corner).

Also looking forward to Olympus's firmware V3 upgrade to the E-M1 with improvements to C-AF and 9 FPS with C-AF.

....I've been waiting; I thought you would likely be at Phillip Island. I like that Troy Bayliss is returning to WSB racing too.

Great photos Tom, thanks for sharing these.

Really like 2,3, and the last one. They look "faster" than the others.

Thanks Bob, knew you would be waiting for these shots.
Off to the airshow this weekend, back to Phillip Island the weekend after for the Phillip Island Classic (historical motor racing) and the F1 Grand Prix the week after

Thanks for the comments Drew & Marcelo.
Drew shots 2,3 & the last one look faster because of the slower shutter speed used (more blur in the background).

These guys have a death wish

Great vantage point you have there. Which lens were you using to capture these? I couldn't even venture a guess, not knowing the distance you were from those areas on the track. Maybe the 50-200 SWD? It's good light, so maybe one of the 75-300's?

Thanks Greg, Phillip Island is a great track to shoot low fences (waist high), no big mesh fences. Good guess used the 75-300 II, waiting for 300mm f4 as I mentioned above. Have ordered the 40-150 f2.8 but it's on back order with Olympus (was limited stock when released in Australia).

I'm on standby, credit card warmed up, for that 7-14mm f2.8. Attending an all-day Olympus seminar this Saturday in Dallas being run one of their visionaries. A rep from Olympus is going to be there with the entire line to fondle.

You'll go nuts over the 40-150 and tele-converter. As nice as the 12-40 is, I think the 40-150/2.8 is even better.

...........well, I've only lifted a 12-40 (yours Greg) but as for the 40-150 & MC14; I love mine & they've not come off the M1 for the past several weeks.

I now need to update to Oly FRM 3.0, then go duck hunting at the lake.
