Default Redtails . . .

Ok, I'm not really an "airplane guy" but my dad is, so we made a little trip of this. An organization here that does restorations on historical aircraft had an event here today, bringing in one of the famous "Redtail" P51 Mustangs from the Tuskegee Airmen.

The sound of it taking off was incredible, like nothing I've heard. I guess that's to be expected, because (in my technicological jargon) it is the singlemost baddass propeller plane ever built.

Nice shots. I would love to have been there.

Thanks everyone. It was a good time.

It's funny to see some of the air shots (the ones where I "hit" the target anyway) where the propeller was frozen because of the shutter speed. It looks like it's stalled or something. I did a little experimenting with slower speeds later to try to get some movement, some of them look pretty neat but there were even more misses. Good thing the "film" is free, eh?
