Default Black Friday deals early - $99 25mm f1.7

Deals starting early, the Panasonic 25mm f1.7 is now $99, it's back ordered but you can still place an order at this price. I figured why not at this price it's hard to go wrong and ordered one from Amazon for $97.99

I'm thinking about it, but it makes me feel like I'm cheating on my 20.

yeah idk for $98 I feel like I can buy it try it and if I don't like it I can always sell it for what I paid after the sale is over. It's finally the cheap fast nifty 50 that I've been waiting for.

That's a great price on that lens. To be honest, way more in line with where a normal/standard f1.8 lens should be priced, especially compared to the $349 (with $50 off!) Olympus is charging for the 25mm f1.8 M. Zuiko.

I agree Greg. I think it'll be a game-changer for the format if they can keep it at that low price (or at least make it available there with frequent sales). When you're first starting into the hobby a $400 "extra lens" is a pretty hard sell.

On a whim I ordered from Samys.com for $97 last night, "backordered," and was surprised to find it shipped today.

Didn't even give me a chance to change my mind again, haha.

too funny - I doubt you will regret it ... I also ordered a couple weeks back now the Lumix 12-32mm tiny kit lens that comes with the GM1 grey market from Japan for $135 as a compliment to my E-PM2... at the time I wouldn't have thought buying a 25mm f1.7 for less would ever be an option... now I'm kinda excited that I'll have the 12-35, 14 and 25 as a pocketable collection for my NYE -1* trip to NYC for Phish

just checked and I can't seem to cancel my BH order on line which is still very much in pending status at the moment, otherwise I'd swap to Sammys because I am a) cheap and b) impatient

*I have floor tix for night one 12/30 ... NYE itself is too crazy for me
