I totally agree with this statement, the famous script "F" is part of the beauty of the old Pen, I have mine and still working.

...reports read the price will be abt $1700, saving my paper route pennies.

Also, one report reads that this will be the BEST of ANY m43 camera....hmmmmmm.

You must have a lot of customers on your paper route Bob.

The specs are interesting. I like the look of it ... but I bet (like the day I tried to Fuji XT-100 that I cannot use such camera ... because of where the viewfinder is

Wowsa!! 1200.00 for the Pen F. Seems like a lot of moola for that. I would opt for the M1 before the Pen F but it is a super nice looking camera.

I'd imagine the main difference between the EM1 and the new Pen is the form, that the "guts" are more-or-less the same.

The new PEN isn't waterproof, though. But then again, neither am I so what difference does that make.

Still, and again, I like the new one a lot but I still also like my EM10. Unless something happened to it the next thing I pick up will be a lens (after getting a nice new monitor for editing that is).

I pretty much agree with you other than the 20MP sensor but that would only appeal to folks who print large photos or posters. The 16MP sensor in my M5 is more than enough for what I do. The creative control doesn't do much for me. I've never used any of that stuff in the past although it would be interesting to see what the setting Chrome would do. I would think they are referring to Kodachrome.

Interesting enough, I was able to play with it ... for about 3 minutes but I wasn't able to talk about it until today (NDA).

1) Nice, very nice design
2) Feel solid
3) Viewfinder location ... better than expected (at least for me even if I can't see from my right eye) ... and yes, my nose is on the screen
4) Focus speed ... as usual (compared to the EM-5/EM-1)

Price ... I bet not so bad ... but without the weather sealed ... not for me. However, I was told ... there will be officially a new EM-1 in September

My dream : Full Frame Om-D with compatibility with existing Zuiko lenses (crop mode?)
being realistic: OM-D EM1 mark II with the Pen F capabilities and (I hope) still support 4/3 lenses...

We shall see!

I don't see why they wouldn't keep fast focus with 4/3 lenses. Now that I've sold all my 4/3 lenses except for the 35 macro I will be concentrating on M43 lenses. The Leica 25mm, f1.4 I just got focuses fast as lighting on the EM-5. Since I prefer to manually focus the macro lens I will keep it seeing I already have the MMF3.
