Default olympus c-4040z doubt

i have a friend that has a c-4040z digicam and she tould me that the camera take only a few shots before the batterie turns off. the batterie is a brand new NiMH sunpack 1800mA. she already tried to use another kind of batterie, but the result was the same. after reecharging correctly the bats, she put them into the digicam and only had the chance to take a few shots before the "you need to change the batteries" warning came out. what do i tell her? is this normal in regarding this digicam?

No, it isn't normal. Either the camera or the battery charger is defective.

I have the C4040 and use 1800ma NiMh batteries and they will last for hundreds of pictures (in excess of 400 with flash).
