Default Olympus c-3040

Hi,
Can you tell me what settings will make this camera have the least amount of delay when taking a pic?...I think I have the settings all messed up...<shrug>...back to the manual!

Thanks in advance!

See ya...Jerry

I'm not familiar with this model, but if it's like other Olys you can hold down the shutter button half way to make the camera focus in advance, and when you're ready to take the picture press the shutter down fully.

Some people find that having the autofocus on constantly tracking the subject helps, albeit at the cost of battery life.

I've tried that and it doesn't help much...I've been playing with the A/S/M settings and I don't think I'm helping much...I'm looking for a option where I can set everything back to the default settings.

See ya...Jerry

My Olympus has a RESET on the on/off switch that allows you to reset the camera to factory defaults. Check your manual to see if you have something like this.

For the fastest shutter lag, turn OFF autofocus, and have your camera single focus as described above (half-press and hold the shutter release until ready to take pic, THEN fully depress it). Make sure redeye reduction is off if you are using flash, and for faster shot-to-shot pics, turn off the image review feature (that displays on the LCD the picture just taken for a couple of seconds).

On the C3020 there is an 'all reset' command; MODE MENU->SETUP->ALL RESET

If you select 'ON' then all factory default settings are restored when power is turned off (an on again).
