Default Olympus D-490 Zoom

I have a D-490 Zoom (2.1 Mp) camera and had a few questions:
- is it OK to use 128 MB SmartMedia cards? 64 MB seem to work more consistently
- can the supplied Camedia software (2.0) be upgraded to newer versions ?

Default Camedia software upgrade

Yes, it can be upgraded. I upgraded to v2.6. As soon as they heard I had purchased v2.6, they released v4.0! <grin> Check out the Olympus website for the latest version. It should run around $20.

Default upgraded Camedia works fine

Thanks LG

I upgraded to v4.0, but still keep version 2.x around for some features (e.g., free rotate)

v4.0 works fine with my 2 cameras: Olympus D-490 Zoom and Minolta DIMAGE X
