Default D460 Zoom Help!

Help! My friend has a D460 zoom camera and the zoom has quit working. It just makes a clicking sound! Can someone please help? How do we fix this? Is the camera ruined or do we take it to a camera shop? Thanks so much!

Default does A/F work at all

with fresh batteries, does autofocus work at all ?? try it at different distances.

It sounds like the lens zoom actuator might be loose or off-track.

Definitely repair-able, but get a quote first.

Default Try fresh batteries

Sometimes, if the batteries are old or low, your camera zoom mechanism might not work correctly. Rule out that possibility before you send it in for repair, and if it's not under warranty, brace yourself ~ it ain't gonna be pretty.

Good luck.
