Hey slickshooter - I loved your pics. Really great ones ! I'm so glad you are enjoying the 750 - alot of people are unsatisfied with the oympus brand , but I'm thinking of getting the 750 too! Thanks for sharing your pics and onfo !

Excellent pictures slick. Some great close ups in there. I am sold on the C-750UZ. I just have to sell my crappy Stylus 400 now...either that or give it to my g/f, or father. Seeing all of your pictures makes me want my C-4000Z back, but I thinkt he C-750UZ will be just as good, but probably better with the better zoom!

Glad you liked the pics.....I don't think I'd ever go back to a camera with a measly 3x optical zoom.
I'm still a rookie myself but I think I have some decent pics so far and the more I take the better they seem to get.
cheers,

Oh my god, I knew it! I was supposed to jump in the right hole... I jumped in to the left, and I came up with a C-740...

I like the cam, but again, I don't think the price difference off the C-750 is worth it, for the extra megapixel, and sound on the video.

Just to add, also ability to use any external flash (the 740 is limited to using a slave flash) which is important to many, as well as ability to use a remote control. When you add all that up, it is worth the extra (for those interested in those features).

I know when I was shopping for my camera I could have bought a 720, but the lack of manual focus and external flash socket turned me off.

I took many shots at Chatsworth House (Derbyshire UK) today, with the Olympus C-750 to view them go to

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/km.bate...orth/index.htm

None have been retouched just reduced for the net. I think this is a superb camera and there are lots of other images on the site taken with the C-750.

I also have a Minolta Z1 and Panasonic FZ2.

Just to add to what I said above about slave flashes, there is a good slave flash which you can use with the 720 & 740 (and any other C-7x0 or other digital camera for that matter) which does have a high guide number, the Metz 34-CS2 Digital. The thing about Oly's is they use a preflash (which sets the white balance) that fires ~100ms before the main flash...if you buy an ordinary slave it will trigger on the preflash and be dark for the main flash. Here's an example of a picture I took at night using the Metz with a C-700:

Here's a test I did in the store with the flash on the counter just to show it can fire wirelessly with the C-7x0:

It depends on how much more you pay, IMHO. I only paid $470 for my c-750 new. and for me the remote control alone makes it worthe the extra green, because i'm taking self family portraits and its WAY better than having to run to position for each shot, also my kids can push the button and feel part of the process.

Having said that. If i was single, i'd have gotten the 740 probably...
