Can anyone please tell me if the viewfinder image on the E-3 is stabilized? I don't know how they could but I can't get a hold of one to check. If not, does anyone have a problem with it?

Hi Dave: the Image Stabilization in the E-3 can be seen when using the LCD in Live View mode. To quote from a recent test:

"It is possible to demonstrate IS to yourself by mounting a long lens, switching to LV, selecting a target, focusing thereon and pressing OK which magnifies the target 5, 7 or 10x. See how much it is swaying as you try to hold the camera steady. Now press the IS button and select IS 1. The result is (can be) dramatic."

Hi Steven - Thanks for the response. I was wondering if the lack of viewfinder stabilization was a problem for any users. Is it enough to cause someone buying a new camera to select a lense stabilized system?

IMHO the use of a sensor IS system, as in the E-3, as well as the E-510, is much more practical over the long run.You pay much more for lenswith lens-based IS. With sensor based IS, you save the added expense when purchasing additional lens. And Olympus just announced a firmware update whichenables the IS to work even with older OM based Zuiko lens. For those of use with several old Zuiko lens, that is great news. Andthose are very good lens, widely available on e-Bay at reasonable prices.
