Default C4000 Battery Problem

My C4000 all of a sudden will no longer power up using batteries. However, it will power up and operate normally using DC power. Any users here encounter this issue? Any recommendations?

Am currently waiting word from Olympus support regarding this issue.

Usually these cameras use leaf springs as the battery contacts inside the battery well...if you're the type who always drops in the batteries into the camera the battery contacts get bent over a period of time and they might need a little pulling up.

Also it could be that one of your batteries are completely dead not allowing current flow...try another set (try alkalines if you don't have another set of NiMHs as alkalines have different type of contacts).

Thanks, Mike. I''ve already pulled up those "leaf" contacts, cleaned the topside contacts and have tried 4 sets of rechargeables already, still no power.

Jerry

Is the camera less than a year old? If it is, then send it in for warranty repair at Olympus.
